I love those guys. Really. Well, maybe not that much. But, I had to immortalise the folks behind the camera. The ones, who normally, do not get the glory, but who have as much 'fun' as anyone else on set. The crew!



Right, El Director is off on holiday and so the comic strip will next be up and running on Monday October 19th! Until then...;)

Taking a look at La Producer's Blog and the first picture, it is interesting to see what the crew often witnesses while a shoot is going on.



I am trying to show Kuldip (who plays Kay) how to dance. One of the aspects of being a director is to firstly, think on the spot and secondly, improvise. I am not a choreographer, but I do have a vision in my mind of how I want the dance to look. I love the expressions on the actors' faces. And yes, that piece of footage has been captured 'on film' and will be in the out takes...

This is what a film set looks like in between takes and captures perfectly the energy that the crew had while shooting 'Jay and Kay Save the World'. The milling around, the set ups for the next shot. There are a lot of people who do not appear on camera, but who are essential to the smooth running of the film. This is why I like this shot, it shows a little bit of the work that goes into the filming...

A little evolution...

As the project grows, so does the new CWP Website. Now for those in the know, the old website was a rather garish pink affair, filled with the colours of, well, it was filled out with everything. There were kinks to a multitude of social networks and fun filled bonanzas. And while these accounts still exist, it has been one hell of a long time since anyone (myself included) has taken them seriously.

So the new CWP Website became a lot more streamlined. Just four places where you can catch us. Maybe this is internet suicide, but at the time I felt that anymore and I would be spending more time on the internet than actually making films...

But, the website itself has changed. We have taken on Jay's comic book persona (hey, I liked the template) for the new short film 'Jay and Kay Save the World'. But I have also added some new links here and there. Go on, check out the CWP Site; you'll see a new section, yep, that's right, click on the top of the page and you will see a brand new behind the scenes section. Well, I figure that it is good to invite you all round to see what exactly happens both on and off the set...

Christmas Review

Okay, so I ate the turkey, stuffed myself with Christmas Pudding and watched far too much TV. It is good to take a 'break', but life continues pretty quickly once Boxing Day is over. I love Christmas, but it does amuse me tat we go into a state of frenzy for a one day dance. Still, it is unusual to see shops closed and streets deserted for a whole 24 hours (and let's be honest, Boxing Day is not much busier too). Some take the week off, some just take a few days, others have no time off, but Christmas is an interesting time with which to compare the rest of the year. It is also the highlight of winter. Despite the sunny weather outside, it is cold and the daylight hours are only so few. We still have three months of wretchedness until we get any decent amount of daytime hours filtering through, such is our distance above the equator.

As another year comes to an end (where the hell did 2008 go?), 2009 starts on a personal level, on a rather strange note. I look forward to the new year, but I also realise that there is much to be done in this one coming up. The end of a decade, the chance to build on the lessons learnt in previous years and real progress ahead in what I want to do. But as always, it won't be easy. It is going to be a challenge, but hopefully one that will not take place in a vacuum. I have some milestones that I want to topple next year, and in 365-odd days time, I hope to say that I have knocked them over!
