February...

Every February, I follow the same pattern. I flay my arms around and scream at the top of my voice, aiming to do something productive. This Feb has been no different, as is evidenced by my late visit to the Thames, again.

Anyhow, I hope this is not an omen, as in previous years, when kept this busy, the year has not turned out according to plan. Oh yes, plans...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! Lots of kisses and hugs to all of our readers! It has been a busy week. I have been researching and preparing proposals for funding...had a bit of a mental block so thought I would blog (altho a bit late in the day!) As you can do, I am doing plenty of romantic things!

Anyway, as we are supposed to be in the mood for love, I thought I would celebrate one of my favourite webisodes of CWP that embraces the love between Jay and Kay and the art of giving...

Treatments, Funding and Flanges

Yes, such is the array of what is on this film maker's mind:

Treatments: I am reading other treatments, sending people my own treatments, and waiting for others to write theirs. The treatment, the halfway house between synopsis and script, is a little bit more than a summary, but fall well short of the official blue print needed to make a film.

Funding: Only one funding pot has been established. Hints to future me - start pre-production in May!!!

Flanges: Until yesterday, I did not know what a flange was. My knowledge of plumbing increases, but not for the reasons you think...

Looking out the window, it is a tad dreary, watching re-runs on the tele and doing some nvq work...and I was thinking of what an exciting year ahead will be for Caution, Wet Paint. We have more plans for our favourite duo and will keep you posted on all progress. We also have new exciting projects in the pipleine, so watch thi sspace..

Talk...

It's good to talk. Or talk is cheap? Nonetheless, the pre-production stage is fraught with conversation. Talk of one project, talk of another and so on. There are three projects I am currently pursuing, projects where I am in charge plus another which I have begun to collaborate on. Four projects of the year. Plus the one project in post-production, 'Amigos Amigos', which as a documentary has been very challenging to piece together. This has been a week of talk and the next week will be filled with more of the same. Talk. Discussion and bringing together of many people. Let us see how it all turns out...

And so we're off. On one side we have the incumbent Labour Party who are desperate to cling onto power despite the fact that they are truly awful. And on the other hand we have the Conservatives who are desperate to assume their natural position as Lord and Masters of the Universe. Great. Oh, and then there are the Lib Dems who have not got a hope in hell. This is choice, this is the mother of all democracies! This is Great Britain!
