Country

El Director does not leave London often. If he does, it is normally somewhere nice, via an airport. But this month, he is out of the capital twice, domestic, and in a surprising bout of environmentalism is taking public transport there. The first is tomorrow, to the hay fever soaked hills of Kent to see how aliens make hops. It will prove to be a most excessive bout of fun-fueled mayhem and murder along lines that many people would cry along.

Oh, so do take the train darling. It is a most glorious way to travel. Really? Well, I do aim to do some editing on board tomorrow, so we will see about that!

Tally Ho! (El D - he needs more sleep...)

Procrastination Station

This has been on my to-do list for a few months, but I figured that I might as well get a concept version of this shoot-em-up out there, as I'm fully booked until late 2009...

There is no "ending" yet, but the final version will feature multiple levels, big explosions, choice of weapons, mobile phone compatibility etc etc.

Yee-Hah!

My new fashion sense...

Site Update

Thanks El D..! Just to add a quick note to say that I've just updated my website with a clearer design and some new audio... I might install a blog (or "blagoratory") soon so that I have a space to post some of my creations outside of the realm of music, such as cartoons, jokes, music journalism, software development etc... I'll put up a post when its done.

Best wishes to all,

El Maestro

A serious week:

Today, is quite a serious day for blogging. So much so, that even the Caution Wet Paint blog has a serious undertone to it. Am I growing up? Surely not?

Our Future from a Londoner's Point of View: The Rise of India and China

This article is part three in the series so far looking at the future of humanity from a Londoner's point of view.

For me, writing about China and India was one of the tougher articles. The fact of the matter is that more than climate change or oil prices, there are no easy solutions to adapt to the rise of these two new Superpowers. It will either be a case of engagement or London will cease to exist in its present form. The growth of India and China will revolutionise the way we lead our lives tomorrow.

The article.

The video.

Next week, my final part in the series, Web 2.0...

La Producer Speaks!

Enough of these milky shenanigans. El D, El M and especially Goldtop, QUIET! We have to hear the voices of Jay and Kay, we need to hear from them, the main characters, the reason we are all here!

Where are you guys? Jay? Kay? Hello, where are you? It is all a bit quiet on the Western Front...oh well, not being one to hog the limelight too much, I am currently pulling my hair out when it comes to these T-Shirts. More explained in my latest vlog

The Big Office

Today was another step in the direction of Corporate Wet Paint. Now, I make no illusions to this as El Director. I want to become corporate for one very big reason - I want the world to see the creation of Jay and Kay. Also the money is there...

Since Cannes, things have become far more serious in the film making world. Today was one of those days. It is not everyday that you get to meet up with the European Product Manager of a major Camera Firm. Yep, this guy deals with all of Europe, the EU, the world's richest trading block when it comes to big chunky professional cameras. And I had a breakfast one-to-one with him.

I did not blag, pretend or cover-up during this meeting. After all, I am a potential customer, so I told him what I thought of his equipment (they are damn good), what I am looking for as a film maker (his target market), and what I would like to see his company do and how they could appeal to me (stop being too technical).

I also told him of his competitors and told him what they are doing right (marketing) and wrong (technical). Essentially his company produces the best products, but has not engaged the film maker and so has to compete ferociously with its rivals.

We also touched upon how we could work together. 'Wow' puts it into context. I do admire his company and when I upgrade my camera, odds are that I will buy his equipment. I am already a happy customer and I know his products will work. I have used other camera and I have not been able to achieve the same results, usually as they are flimsy pieces of kit. And yes, I would love to get my hands on a piece of his equipment. He did not have to sell me his camera, if I had the cash, I would buy his stuff tomorrow.

Overall, a very interesting meeting. The future is open to many possibilities and today could have been a possibility. But for now, it is time for me to get back to that opera!

A correction to that cheesy twit known as...

...El Maestro!

You are wrong! You imbecile! Just wait until my ship is repaired, and then you will truly know where milk comes from. There is only one planet where milk originates - PLOV!

I will kill all you Earthlings, slaves, and after Jay and Kay, I will be after you next, El Maestro! Hahaha!

What you Really Should Know About Milk...

Here at Caution, Wet Paint, we also aim to educate and inform you; the general (non-paying) public.

First up, a cockney sing-along about MILK. You have been warned.

(Of course its a tribute to Weebl and Bob).

- El Maestro

Traffic Lights...

Imagine if traffic lights had a personality. Yeah, you know, Red, Amber and Green, imagine if they had a personality. You come to a certain road junction and always the lights turn red, and you think 'you ******' to yourself.

But what if the lights had a personality. What would they be like. Well, I reckon the ones at Traflgar Square are mildly anarchistic, while the traffic lights at Stockwell are plain sadistic. The ones in Morden are vindictive little buggers while the ones in Streatham are actually all right, if it is night time.

All right, El Director is off to bed, it has been a long night!

London has a sense of Humour

I really cannot get over this! It is an Elephant with a Castle on top of it! Hahaha!

And you thought my obsession with milk was strange...(El D.)

Monday Montuno

Oh right, in my post-gig state I naturally assumed you were talking about Tito Puente or something.

Well I'm disappointed that you weren't. To make amends:

Happy Monday? I will spend most of it sleeping. (El Maestro)

El Director es muy...

Ah, the kiddies are on this channel and so I must be good. When I mean Latin Quarter, El Maestro, I am talking about that wonderful part of London known as the Elephant and Castle, a marvellous place filled with the vibrancy of Rio and the mystique of El D.F.

Of course, what else could El Director be thinking about when he mentions the Latin Quarter. More milk anyone?

2010? Far too early...

Recovery in 2010

We will see. Personally, I think the whole scenario about lowerin oil prices is just too optimistic. Also, it depends how many credit card debts are defaulted - that is the big question not answered.

See you by 2012 maybe?

Saturday 12 July 2008

Countries

There is one place I want to make it more than any other, at this moment in time.

Japan.

Quite simply, I love Japan and all things Japanese. I also think they would really love Jay and Kay.

Well, a man can dream...(el d.)

Babarouge is Back!

I have been unusually slack in maintaining my managerial duties recently and so I have decided to make amends by revitalising the Corporate side of things....

Painting my T-Shirts

Ok, so after my first vlog, I am set to design Jay and Kay t-shirts...have been experimenting with painting pretty patterns onto the shirts but it seems to look like something out of 'Art Attack' - anybody ever saw that kiddie programme?? That I watched as a ahem young, impressionable teenager...

So yes there will be some haute couture by this week coming out of the Duke Factory...I better get sewing rather than painting!

la producer

Ooo did I mention I also have a ton of paperwork to sift through??!!!

The Internet is not free...

So says the Tehran Times. I know, the irony of a comment like this coming from Iran, but they have a point. The ruling of a US court allowing Google to give up 'non-sensitive' information such as your own IP address to Viacom.

But before I go any further, let me replace the word 'Viacom' with 'MTV' or 'South Park'. Yeah, that's better, how does it feel now? Anytime you have watched a clipping of MTV or Kenny getting killled. Or even a piece of Star Trek, there you go, MTV will probably try to sue you.

I could go into the whole corporate hogwash and start blubbering about how this is the end for democracy. No, instead I shall keep it simple.

Paramount Pictures have made nothing good in the last few years, nothing memorable in terms of films. MTV is just cribbing itself to death and to be honest, the actions of this company sounds like an organisation in trouble. Instead of trying to hold desperately onto the past, just accept the future, embrace it and adapt to it.

It is actions like this that could make Viacom another MGM.

El Director's Guide to Blogging Part 2: Commentary

It is interesting that the commentary box is a most under utilised utility on this blog. Now I know that people do read it, but, and maybe it is a British thing, we are very reluctant to post a comment on the blog page.

But it is always nice to get feedback. It is interesting that I get far more feedback on my youtube pages than I do here on blogger. And I know less people watch the videos that read the blogs. Still...

So do not be scared, pop up the comment box, and feel the excitement of commentary...

El Director's Guide to Writing a Blog

1) Sign into blog with your username and password.

2) Write a few lines. Wit is not a necessity, just content.

3) If you are feeling plucky, then attach a picture, or even a video. Note the example below

4) If your blog is published on more than one site (for example, Myspace and Blogger) then copy and paste from one page to the next.

5) Hit the 'publish post' button.

Voila! The blog has been posted. The world can now view your thoughts and words.

----

It is so simple, El Director wonders why everyone does not have their own personal blog, or at least one posting a week.

It's so easy...like taking candy...from a baby! 1, 2, 3, (4 & 5)...

Days off

Free as a bird, today El Director was soaring through the streets of South London, gently curving away on a not-so-new bicycle from ye olde shoppe!

Also saw the hit Tamil flick Dasavatharam at the pictures - three hours of fun, cannot be beaten by anyone, especially with Kamal Hassan in ten roles. I loved every minute of it, a typical Tamil film, but just WOW.

Yeah, what a way to spend a day off...
